Needs Analysis Forms for...

Note that we don't have forms for Outlook, Publisher, Visio or VBA Programming. For Project, we recommend that all users start with the Level 1 course.

What course should I do?

Many of our courses offer multiple Levels. If you know what you want to be trained in, you can download the Outlines found in the Manuals page of this website.

If you aren't really sure, donwload the Needs Analysis files shown at the right of this page. These can be for your personal use, but are especially useful if you are arranging training for a group.

In order to use the files you will need to have Adobe Acrobat or the free Acrobat Reader available from the Adobe website.

Assessing the Results

If you wish to assess your own skills or those of a group of colleages, use the following suggestions.

  • The "Can you perform the following tasks" questions are broken into sections by a line. Each section correspond to the Levels offered in the manuals. Find the first section which is predominantly "No" or "Not Sure" - that is where the respondant should start.

Or

  • Use the "I want to learn about" control to identify common desires. Use the course Outlines to locate which manual contains these desires.

Alternatively, the forms can be emailed back to us using the Submit to ThoughtAndMemory button at the bottom. We will review them for free for individuals (Groups may incur a charge). We will return an email with our recommendation.

What if I know a little about everything?

This is a very common reaction with self-taught users. However, the most common post-training comment we get is "I wish I had known that earlier - it would have saved me so much time". Even experienced users get a lot of those little time-saving tips from our courses.

So look for topics you would like to explore in more depth. You may find that you know quite a lot of it, but those little extras can make the difference
