About ThoughtAndMemory
ThoughtAndMemory was founded in 2002 by an experienced trainer to provide training and consulting in Microsoft desktop products. After training from various commercially available course manuals, he decided to try and write something himself.
He holds a B.Sc (Chemistry and Pure Maths), with more than 10 years experience as an R&D Chemist in the Food Industry. He extensively used Microsoft Office, and later Project and Visio in his time in the laboratory.
He also has an Australian Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessing and more years than he cares to admit teaching and demonstrating experience at various learning centres, including Sydney TAFE, UTS Ultimo and various commercial Training Companies in Sydney.
He passed his first Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) examination using Office 97. He has regularly re-examined as new Office versions were released, and the qualifications were renamed Microsoft Certified Applications Specialist (MCAS) and Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP). He held a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) qualification from 2009 to 2014.
Why "ThoughtAndMemory"?
According to Norse legend, Odin had two ravens who flew around the universe every day. Every evening, they would return and share with Odin the secrets they had discovered during their travels. People who discover information to share with others is a good analogy for Trainers.
The names of the ravens were Huginn and Muninn, which translate as "Thought" and "Memory".
